Layrite Super Hold

If you are looking for a bad-ass water based pomade, Layrite super hold would be your best friend. Water based pomades are awesome because they wash out easily and does not build up like petroleum based pomades. Since they're water based, you do not have to blow-dry your hair. You can apply it on towel dried hair. The pomade results in a better consistency when the hair is a little damp and glides through easily when styling with a comb. It also adds extra shine when the hair is slightly damp when applied. I would suggest to start off with a 50 cent coin amount when applying, be generous. Water based pomades are different compared to waxes, it is alright if you use a little bit more than you need in your hair. The texture of Layrite Super Hold is thick and smells like Vanilla with a hint of Orange zest. It's perfect for men who wanna smell fresh but do not fancy strong scents.

I've been getting good feedbacks after using it on clients for a month. Everyone loves it. If you have thick hair, curly hair or that super straight Asian hair that sticks out and never listens, Layrite Super Hold will tame it down!

If you are living in Singapore, the pomade costs around $25 - $27. Find it at the barbershop I'm working at, Jermyn Street Barber Shop.

Suit Supply

Finally a third home for dapper men - Suit Supply Singapore. This is exactly the kind of place I've been anticipating. Suit Supply continues its dynamic expansion in Singapore, opening its first store in the prestigious Orchard Ion among other high-end brands.

It is a treat for the eyes as everything in the international webstore unfolds right before us. A cocktail party of classic tailoring and contemporary prints entertained the guests as we maneuver our way around the lively crowd with beers in hand while greeting familiar faces.

Suit Supply carries everything, and I mean EVERYTHING a man needs to dress at his very best. Suits, shirts, belts, pocket squares, ties, scarfs, bags, shoes.. You name it, they've got it. The best thing about it? Almost every accessory comes in a wide variety of colors. Truly a mini warehouse heaven for styles that last, it's amazing! Now that's what I'll call a comprehensive collection to feed what every man needs and wants. After all they're named the best place to go shopping for suits by New York Magazine and the coolest new store by GQ Magazine. Suit Supply definitely lives up to their name.

Service is a plus and I had good chats with a handful of the vibrant and friendly staff. The passion in them is undeniable as they explained the different Italian fabrics and traditional methods of craftsmanship. Most importantly, they help you because they care. The in-house tailors further made this point with their dedicated and unfazed attention to altering newly purchased garments.

I've been to many menswear stores and none really impressed me till I stepped in Suit Supply. Well done Suit Supply, you have blessed Singapore!

Sneakers x Dapper Fits = I love it.
It's about looking dapper but toning it down just a little bit with a pair of sneakers. I call it Snapper. It's the definition of effortless dapper. Try it and you will understand!

Fade Zero

If you happen to have good dense hair that grows really quickly, it is not a bad idea to get a zero fade. Tell your barber you would like to change it up a bit with something different and more daring, you will definitely gain his respect!

A lot of professional men often think that a zero fade might be too short and wild, I disagree. A proper zero fade can look professional and very clean. If you always get number 2 on the sides, I would suggest going down to a number 1 first before taking it down to a 0. The reason being is to get a feel how short it is before getting it to a 0. In my opinion, 0 fade style looks best with a Gentleman who has strong facial features.

Keep in mind Gents, a sharp looking haircut is a confident man!

Above is a picture of a zero fade that I did with a parting, finishing it off with one of my favorite pomade, Layrite (super hold)

BDRM2014

Here I stand at the end of the night at KPO for Singapore Esquire's Best Dressed Real Man 2014. It's been a hell of an experience going through this competition for the past 3 months. Honestly, I thought I would be competing against 14 snobs, I thought wrong! I met really cool, down to earth dudes who I will definitely keep in touch with.

A picture of me that was chosen for Esquire's BDRM 2014 (August Issue), my first national magazine feature. Never in a thousand years would I have thought to see myself in such a spread, it is pretty awesome! The shoot was pretty quick, probably took about 20 mins. We had the photo shoot at a small studio called The Pond in Joo Chiat. A really cozy and chill studio.

Luisaviaroma sponsored this year's BDRM and we had to pick a few items for the shoot. I picked the umbrella and the cuff links, both by Alexander McQueen. Yes, I went for the Shanghainese Mafia look. ;)

After hustling for the last 3 months and posting OOTDs everyday on Instagram, I had a glimpse of what it is like being an influencer, someone who inspires others to dress better. In my opinion, this is the very essence of Best Dressed Real Man. Apart from dressing well, he has to be real. A character that shines through the crowd. Many associate men dressing up as vain and frivolous, I beg to differ. How you dress is how you carry yourself and how you express yourself without saying a word. Why look like 99% of the people who commutes at Raffles City? We all have a choice and wardrobe options to do better.

I came up short after all the hard work and spamming my page to get some votes. Was I surprised? I would be lying if I said I wasn't, but at the same time I didn't. At the end of the day, it was a really good experience and I am thankful that I was chosen to be in the finals. To all my family, friends, new friends and strangers who supported me since day one of BDRM, thank you for the love. I appreciate it.

Last but not least, a big Thank You to the big man up above who gave me such an opportunity which has been opening more doors for me.
