Texture Play

I do corporate haircuts all day and it gets mundane. What I did to my friend William here, is something more creative but still keeping the look professional. Minimal fade, taking it diagonally instead of horizontal just around the temple area, a lot of texture on the top but still keeping a good amount of weight. Keeping some weight helps the hair looks fuller and gives it a better the shape when product is applied. Often when the hair is over textured/thinned out, it looks too flimsy and shapeless when product is applied.

Khaki Tantrum

Nothing beats a white V-neck. I choose Hanes as they are soft and crisp. Just right for Singapore's perennial summer. One of my recent get-ups on off duty days are these comfy tees paired with tailored chinos, keeping the look simple and clean. Don't keep your whiteys in the closet, bring them out to play! You'd be surprised at the number of pairings you can do with them.

New Balance 410 on my feet. Do I need to say more? Picked this pair of bad boys over at Leftfoot for only $60 bucks. It's easily one of my favorite pair of sneakers for my daily outfits. What is there not to love about it? :D

Doors of Penang

Penang, Georgetown.

This little town has so much to offer. What stood out to me was how much character it had, exuding confidence with the various alleys embracing art, creating a lustful charisma. Akin the red, bold lips of a spruced up lady, the one thing that really caught my eye and left an impression was the door of every house. Every door is different, each its own distinctive personality. I fell in love with them and followed the train of thoughts wondering what lies behind those doors. It was Jaslyn's idea that got me inspired to take pictures of every door we encounter. What are the stories behind each of them? Get inspired.

Nike NM Breeze

Finally got my Nike Rosche NM Breeze from Cineleisure's Leftfoot. A fresh addition to my assembly of dress shoes. It's been a while since my feet have been in a pair of sneakers, and they are loving it! Our feet do get a harsh beating when we stand or walk all day so do care for them. I really forgot how Nike makes such great lightweight and comfy shoes. The softness of the insoles cushion just moulds into the shape of my soles, it's like walking on clouds. I especially like the flexible material on the tops and the range of colors in this range. Nike Rosche Run provides just what I need, a good fit, support and comfort without compromising on style.

Style-wise, the Nike Rosche is pretty versatile, you can go casual with it or even snapper (sneakers x dapper). Here are some ways I style my pair.

Sneakers are awesome companions while traveling. I am glad I brought them out to Penang over the weekend with all the walking going on.

It's unfortunate that Nike ID does not ship worldwide, or at least to our little red dot. If you live in Singapore, the best place to get newer released Nike Roshe Runs would be at Leftfoot. I believe they carry more varieties of Nike Roshe Runs compared to other stores. Own a pair and feel the greatness of Nike Roshe Runs. As the saying goes, Just Do It!

Stay Flossy!

Keeping a natural neckline

Today. I'm going to share about the importance of a natural neckline finish. I've seen too many men who have horrible necklines. The worst necklines are the ones that look like a box. If your barber gave you a boxy neckline, my advise is to find a new barber!

Stay away from boxy necklines!!

Some men don't really care how it looks at the back of their head, but let me tell you, the back is as important as the front. You have to realize if the front looks good and the back doesn't, it's considered a bad haircut. A natural hairline allows your hair to grow evenly; if you miss a week or two when your hair is due for a cut, it will still look good.

However, when you have a strong outlined neckline that is being carved and lined more than 1/8 inches into your natural neckline, that is a bad neckline finish. When your hair starts growing, the artificial neckline that your barber puts in is going to start looking like a mess in a week. Let your barber know that you would like a natural tapered finish, it does make a huge difference!

Above are some pictures of different kinds of neckline taper that I have done. Different lengths but still keeping it natural.
